Resumen

The article presents some of the crucial ideas defended by Kripke and others concerning modality from the beginning of the 70s in the last century. Ideas which have transformed Analytical Philosophy and have been a powerful factor in the renewed interest that some of the most traditional topics have gained in the minds of new young generations of philosophers. For all of them the work of Kripke has been a sort of liberation. The paper finally presents some consequences of this new approach in respect to the modal ontological argument for the existence of God.
