The ADILLI 1985-2025:40 years of Italian studies in Argentina

Abstract

During the III Virtual Meeting of ADILLI, held at the Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, on September 11–12, 2025, I was invited—in my role as a founding and life member—to give the inaugural lecture in her honor. In the first issue of Caleidoscopio, I had already published the report: “La italianistica en Argentina (1985-2024). Anotaciones para el homenaje de los 40 años de ADILLI”.The present work, based on the presentation given at that meeting, aims to continue a series recovering the institution’s history —a project I initiated in Trelew in 2009 during the Association’s 25th-anniversary celebrations— extending the timeframe to the present day. Furthermore, it incorporates visual and photographic elements more extensively, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by digital publishing.This archival series is intended to continue in future issues, drawing from the collection and classification of graphic and photographic materials. This will show the various meetings ADILLI has held throughout its 40 years of existence.

Durante el III Encuentro Virtual de ADILLI realizado en la Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, del 11 al 12 de septiembre de 2025, fui invitada, en mi carácter de socia fundadora y vitalicia, a dictar la conferencia inaugural para homenajearla. En el número 1 de Caleidoscopio había publicado ya el informe: “La italianistica en Argentina (1985-2024). Anotaciones para el homenaje de los 40 años de ADILLI”.El presente trabajo, con base en lo presentado en ese encuentro, pretende continuar una serie de recuperación de la historia de la institución iniciada por mí en Trelew 2009, cuando se celebraban los 25 años de la Asociación extendiendo el período temporal hasta el presente. E incorporando en modo más profuso, lo visual y fotográfico, dada las posibilidades que brinda la edición virtual.Serie de carácter archivístico que se pretende continuar en próximos números a partir de la recopilación y clasificación de los materiales gráficos y fotográficos que documentan los distintos encuentros que la ADILLI ha realizado a lo largo de sus 40 años de existencia.
