| dc.description.abstract | El cultivo de maíz en la región del noroeste de la República Argentina (NOA) cumple un rol importante en la sustentabilidad del área agrícola. En este trabajo se presenta la variedad de polinización abierta Cuatero INTA,recomendada para el subtrópico argentino (al norte del paralelo 30° LS). Este nuevo cultivar se destaca por su gran adaptación, potencial de rendimiento (8000 kg/ha), bajo costo de semilla, tolerancia al calor y a las enfermedades propias de la región, lo cual permitiría cubrir las necesidades de pequeños productores y de aquellos de áreas marginales. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Corn crops play an important role in the agricultural sustainability of the northwestern region in the Argentine Republic (NOA region). This work presents the open-pollinated variety Cuatero INTA, a new cultivar which can be recommended for subtropical regions in Argentina, north of the 30° LS parallel, due to its high adaptation levels, yield potential (8,000 kg/ha), low seed cost, and tolerance to heat and diseases typical of the region. Indeed, this cultivar could cover the needs of both small farmers and producers in marginal areas. | |
